-Oral contrast agent for T1-weighted MRI imaging

an MRI abdominal image MRI imaging is improved by the use of a gastointestinal tract marker, for the same reasons that equivalent products are used in CT scanning. Considerable debate is current as to whether negative (refer to Digital HD) or positive contrast is preferable.

ORAL-MRI acts as a positive contrast oral, MRI agent in T1 weighted studies. It is the only such contrast agent that is legally marketable in Australia. ORAL-MRI uses Ferric Ammonium Citrate as it's active ingredient.

Marketed as a pre-dosed sachet (1.2g of active/dose), it is dissolved in water immediately prior to use, to produce a delicious drink.

Oral-MRI has marketing approval for Australia, and is available for sale or license.
